This is my first time in Quebec city as a tour director and I was lucky enough to discover Louise on my first night out. I knew immediately walking in there that I had made good choice, fantastic atmosphere, happy people; luckily for me one of the few spots left at the bar was free. Had the fish and chips which was good but next time I will be more adventurous and try out some of the other specialties. A great selection of alcoholic drinks of almost any description and some enticing desserts. I need to try out other locales on this trip but it will be a fight not to go back again :-)

We had a great time here - fantastic, friendly server that spoke a little French with us but was happy to step in with English when we needed it. The food was delightful - two of us had the cod special (pictured) which was unreal...a flavorful, thoughtful dish...while the third had a classic steak with potatoes which was also delicious. Great beverage offering, with a good assortment of wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. We were too full for dessert, but it was tempting! Recommend taking an Uber or taxi here from the Upper city, or take the Funiculaire down and walk a bit, just remember it closes at 9!

While vacationing in Quebec, we stopped at Louise Tavern for breakfast. The food was so good, we immediately made a reservation to come back for dinner! The specialty omelet at breakfast was sun-dried tomato with goat cheese. All the veggies were fresh and delicious! For dinner we had the special which was grilled halibut with cauliflower puree, mushrooms, and fennel. They also offer delicious mocktails, and the desserts were the best we had in Quebec.

The service was spectacular decor and ambience. Fabulous. I ordered the salmon. It was the most amazing breakfast I have ever had in my entire life anywhere in the world from the first bite the flavors that presented were absolutely the most tantalizing the most fulfilling satiating wow wow wow wow

Get the special! we got the pork and octopus, EVERYTHING was perfect! From the vegs- freshest greens, sweetest tomatoes, and that sauce and pork! But the star has to be the tender, juicy perfectly grilled octopus. For desserts we try the creme caramel with foie gras!! And yes, they really work well together, probably the best custard I’ve ever had. The taco crepe was also good but is pale in comparison.

Just returned from our visit to QC. Our first dinner at Louise was so enjoyable, we returned for a second evening. My wife loved the fish and chips. My halibut was amazing. Served with lobster risotto, asparagus, fiddlehead and pesto. Had to have the cream puff for dessert. Great atmosphere (although it can get loud). Would suggest you sit at the bar, if a couple, as it was fun to interact with multiple staff members. All very well informed, patient and accommodating.

Such a beautiful resto with delicious brunch! A big thank you to Julien and Rosalie for offering such fine service and great tips on what to do around the city. Love this restaurant

If any establishment deserves a 5 star rating it is Louise Taverne. In town for a sporting event, we had a " staff meeting" here.. the food and service was superb even for our large group. Over the course of the week, I thoroughly enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners... each one a culinary masterpiece. If you can, sit at the bar and watch the seamless flow of staff as each meal is prepared.. Every staff member is professional. courteous and outgoing... Even though I just left, I'm looking forward to visiting next year !
